Are You Featuring These Holiday Movies and TV Specials? Let us Help

  |   Article, Commentary

It’s that time of year again.  The usual holiday season has been upended by the pandemic and most of us will not celebrate this year like years before.  But what will not change is the holiday movies and TV shows that signify this time of year just like the menorahs, trees, lights and wrapped presents that bring us joy this time of year.

Internet Video Archive (IVA) earlier this year introduced Collections to its movie and TV database. IVA organized movies and TV shows together around types of Collections like shared universes, iconic authors, iconic characters, etc. IVA has introduced a new type of Collection: Editorial.  We could not think of a better time to release this new Collection Type than now when seasonal content is in high demand. Click the links below to get more info about the titles, watch a trailer, and links where to see them.

The new “30 Christmas Classics” Collection showcases the must-see movies and TV specials that have been synonymous with the holidays.  We do not provide an order as it is a grab-bag list of old Hollywood (It’s a Wonderful LifeMeet Me in St. LouisMiracle on 34th Street, etc.), children’s TV specials (Rudolph The Red-Nosed ReindeerA Charlie Brown ChristmasFrosty the Snowman)comedies (National Lampoon’s Christmas VacationScroogedTrading PlacesHome Alone), off-beat (GremlinsEdward ScissorhandsThe Nightmare Before Christmas), newly ordained classics (KlausJingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey) to our favorite version of A Christmas Carol (1951) and of course, A Christmas Story.

We added other holiday inspired collections for your editorial and programming needs.  We took our list from last year of Slashing Through the Snow and made it into a Collection of Christmas horror movies over the years as an editorial collection.  We also have iconic titles collections such as A Christmas Carol that offers every version of the classic story.  Other iconic titles like The Santa ClauseBad SantaSanta Paws and Silent Night, Deadly Night can be found in our collection data too.  Lastly, the iconic character of The Grinch has its own collection not only including the first TV special in 1966 but also the Jim Carey vehicle in 2000the 2018 animated feature movie and the musical (as well as his Halloween is Grinch Night from 1977 and the Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat from 1982).

If you are an IVA client, find out how to implement collections here.

Have a happy and safe holiday season from all of us at IVA!
