Player Setup

Follow the step below to create a player and to see all the features of our Cross Platform Player.  If you would like you can check out our short video on creating a basic player.

Step 1

Log into Media Manager and click on Player Platform -> Cross Platform Player.  Once you are on the Player Manager page you will need to create a a player by clicking “Create New Player”.


Step 2

The next step will be to set the basic settings of the player. In the basic setting you can set all the basic features of the player.

In the table below you will see a full list of the options you can set on the basic settings page for the player.

Player Manager v6 Basic Settings

Player Name Give your player a descriptive name so you can find it easily on the player manager page.
Display Control BarThe control bar will show up when you hover over the player if you select ‘true’.
Custom Still ServiceChoose if you would like the player to use our Custom Stills Service to display HD Stills inside the player.  This is a great option if you are using a big player on a webpage.
Skin SelectionSelect the skin you want for your player
Player WidthWidth of the player in pixel: defaults to 480 pixels. We recommend a setting of at least 320 pixels so the skin can display properly.
Player HeightHeight of the player in pixels. We recommend a setting of at least 180, so all user interface elements will fit.
Aspect RatioSpecify the aspect ratio you want while the video plays. We recommend 16×9
MuteSelect “true” to mute sound on start-up. Default is false.
PrimarySelect which rendering mode to try first for rendering the player. Default is Flash. Can be set to HTML5
RepeatSelect true to loop playback. Default is set to false
Auto StartSelect true to automatically start playing the video on page load. Defaults to false.(Autostart doesn’t work on mobile OS).

Step 3

Choose what plugins you would like to use with the player.


Step 4

If you are planing on adding advertising to your videos here is where you can set those settings. The player supports VAST, VPAID and Google IMA URL Tags.  Be sure to check the box to enable advertising.


Step 5

Logo Settings is where you can add a transparent logo overlay to the player to identify your brand should you decide to syndicate your player to other websites and applications.

Step 6

Allowed Domains controls the security of the player so someone cannot take the player code and use it on their site. Add all the domains you want your player to work on to this page here.


Step 7

If you plan on having a playlist displayed next to the player you can set those settings here.

Save your settings and you are all set!
